Bara Singha, Qaaran al-Aael, بارہ سنگھا, Cervus elephus var. hanglu Ahmad et al. (Cervus elephus Linn.) Cervidae, Ruminanta, Mamalia.  This natural product is basically, horns/antlers of stag. Material is of white colour, without odour or taste and contains about 58% phosphate of lime. Practitioners use it in form of powder. They prepare this powder  by burning ashes into a closed container and then converting this ash into fine powder.

Temperament:

Its temperament is warm and dry in third order.

Medicinal uses:

Physicians administer bara singha powder with a few bruised black peppers and apply it on the chest in pectoral affections, pleurisy, cough, and asthma. It is also used in low fevers and painful affections of the joints, sciatica, and lumbago. In cardialgia, pleurodynia and other affections of heart administered in dose of 2 mg with clarified butter, milk or cream.

They use it as a cleansing agent. Hence, applying it as a collyrium in various eye conditions such as vascular keratitis, specks, cataracts, and irritations. The powder serves as a dental cleanser, either alone or in combination with other appropriate remedies. Additionally, they employ it in children suffering from thrush and muguet. It has also shown efficacy in addressing phosphaturia and loss of appetite. Fumigation effectively dries piles for treatment.

Bara singha has a long history of traditional use for enhancing blood flow, fortifying bones and muscles, and promoting overall vitality.
