Description

Maithay or maithrey at sknatural are seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum Linn. This plant belongs to family “Papilionaceae”. Maithay extensively address various health issues such as colic, flatulence, diarrhoea, dysentery, dyspepsia, loss of appetite, and chronic cough, particularly of the productive type. They also benefit conditions like dropsy, enlargement of the liver and spleen.

Furthermore, people often administer a decoction of seeds mixed with a little honey to treat coughs and chronic bronchitis. Additionally, nursing mothers include seeds in their diet to enhance the flow of milk. In cases of leucorrhoea, Methi seeds serve as a useful application for uterine and vaginal inflammation or putrid discharges.
