Skin conditions also benefit from halim seeds. A paste or massage with the seeds proves useful for leucoderma, freckles, discoloration, and spots. The seeds can also resolve some inflammations. Decoctions made from the seeds are effective against hiccups, dysentery, diarrhea, and skin complaints caused by blood impurities. Additionally, they can address internal inflammations of the skin and intestinal mucous membranes.
Moreover, for indigestion, a simple household remedy combines halim seed powder with sugar. This mixture acts as both a restorative and a relief for flatulence. It even functions as a lactagogue, promoting breast milk production. For a more long-lasting effect, people prepare halim seeds in sugar candy to treat seminal debility, leucorrhea, and rheumatic pains.
Interestingly, halim seeds are effective in all diseases where mustard is traditionally used. Some even consider them a more satisfactory rubefacient (causing redness and irritation to the skin) than mustard.
