Plant description:

Indr Jo Talakh is a versatile plant that can grow as either a shrub or a small tree. In its tree form, it can reach impressive heights of up to 13 meters (43 feet) with a trunk girth of 1.1 meters (3.6 feet) and a clear bole (trunk without branches) ranging from 3 to 7 meters (10 to 23 feet) tall. The leaves are impressive in size as well, measuring 15-30 centimeters (6-12 inches) long and 4-12 centimeters (1.6-4.7 inches) wide.

Furthermore, the flowers of this plant are small and white, lacking any noticeable scent. They are arranged in clusters at the terminal ends of branches (terminal corymbose cyme). The calyx, the sepals that enclose the flower bud, has oblong-lanceolate lobes that are 2.5-3 millimeters (0.1-0.12 inches) long, pointed (acute), and fringed with hairs (ciliate).

The seeds of this plant are another distinctive feature. They are on the longer side, measuring 8 millimeters (0.3 inches) or more in length. These linear-oblong shaped seeds have a light brown color and are topped with a crown of brown hair that spreads out (deciduous coma) when mature and eventually falls off.

Physicians also consider kurchi a valuable traditional remedy for diuresis (increased urine production), kidney stones, and flatulent dyspepsia (indigestion with gas).

Moving on to the seeds, people generally consider them carminative (relieving gas), astringent (causing tissue contraction), lithontriptic (aiding in dissolving kidney stones), tonic (providing general strengthening), and aphrodisiac (increasing sexual desire).
