Tez Pat  at sknatural are leaves of Cinnamomum tamala (Ham.) Nees & Eberm. It belongs to family “Lauraceae”. Indeed these are warm and dry in second order. Generally people use the leaves. Capable of reaching heights of up to 20 m (66 ft), this plant boasts leaves with a clove-like aroma, also complemented by a subtle peppery taste.

Tez pat serve both culinary and medicinal purposes. Furthermore, it is believed to have been one of the primary sources of the medicinal plant leaves recognized in classical and medieval times as malabathrum (or malobathrum).Their aroma is due to Beta-caryophyllene, Linalool, Caryophyllene oxide, Eugenol.
