اس کا پودا لگ بھگ ایک سے دو فٹ اونچا ہوتاہے اور اس میں بہت سی شاخیں ہوتی ہیں ۔پتے تین حصوں میں تقسیم اور کنارے کٹے ہوئے معلوم ہوتے ہیں یہ دیکھنے میں چکنے معلوم ہوتے ہیں پھول نیلے رنگ کے او پھل میں گلاب کے پھول کی مانند اور پھولوں میں چار سے چھ پنکھڑیاں گلاب سے چوڑی ہوتی ہے۔گلاب کے زیرہ کی طرح اس کے اندر بھی زرد رنگ کا زہر ہ ہوتاہے۔
پھل پودے کے تنے سے گول گانٹھ دار بادام کی طرح لگتے ہیں جس میں انار دانہ کی طرح لال رنگ کے دانے ہوتے ہیں جوکہ اس کے تخم ہوتے ہیں جڑ شکل میں انگوٹھے کے برابر موٹی اور گول ہوتی ہے۔نرجڑ باہر سے بھوری توڑنے پر سخت چھلکا اور اس پر کراس شکل کی لکیریں نظر آتی ہیں جسکی وجہ سے اس کو عود صلیب کہتے ہیں مزے میں چرپری ہوتی ہے اور یہی بطور دوا مستعمل ہے۔

کی وجہ سے درد معدہ درد گردہ و مثانہ میں مفیدہے۔مناسب ادویہ کے ساتھ ادرار حیض و نفاس کیلئے کھاتے ہیں جالی ہونے کی وجہ سے چہرے کے نشانات اور جھائیں وغیرہ دور کرنے کیلئے طلاء کرتے ہیں ۔یہ رحم
