Description

Gul Kaisu, گل کیسو , GAISU , QAISU, Butea monosperma, Erythrina monosperma Lam.,  Butea frondosa Roxb. This plant belongs to family “Papilionaceae”. In fact, its temperament is warm and dry in third order. Parts used of this plant are leaves, bark, flower, seeds and gum.

English Names: Butea tree, Bastard Tree, Bengal Kino

Recommended dosage:

Seeds 600 mg., gum 1 to 3 g., flowers 5 g., bark 3-6 g. (powdered). Physicians describe excessive use or large doses of it as harmful for intestines.

Medicnal uses:

Generally, these flowers possess  flavanoid glucosides- butrin, isobutrin, coreopsin, isocoreopsin and sulfurein. Practitioners used these traditionaly in beauty care and to maintain complexion and suppleness of skin. To utilize its therapeutic properties, immerse 5-7 flowers in water overnight. In the morning, filter the solution and incorporate a small quantity of sugar.Therefore, this concoction effectively halts nasal bleeding. Further,  for urinary ailments, harvest its closed buds and allow them to dry in the shade. Subsequently, grind and filter the buds, then blend them with jaggery. Administer 9 grams of this mixture to the patient each morning for comprehensive relief from various urinary disorders.
