Description
Maiyeen at sknatural also known as Casuarina equisetifolia, commonly known as coastal she-oak, horsetail she-oak, ironwood, beach sheoak, beach casuarina or whistling tree is a species of flowering plant. It belongs to the family “Casuarinaceae.” People use leaf, stem and fruit of this plant. This tree is evergreen. It grows in tropical climate and upto 35m.

Plant description;
asuarina equisetifolia, a monoecious tree, typically reaches heights of 6–12 m (20–39 ft), occasionally up to 35 m (115 ft). Initially, its bark is smooth and greyish, later becoming scaly or furrowed on mature trees. The branchlets, which droop downwards, can grow up to 300 mm (12 in) long. The leaves are reduced to scale-like teeth, approximately 0.7 mm (0.028 in) in length, arranged in whorls of 7 or 8 around the branchlets.
Between the leaf whorls, known as the “articles,” the branchlet sections measure 5–13 mm (0.20–0.51 in) in length and 0.5–1.0 mm (0.020–0.039 in) in width. Male flowers form spikes, 7–40 mm (0.28–1.57 in) long, occurring in whorls of 7 to 11.5 per centimeter (per 0.39 in). The anthers are 0.6–0.8 mm (0.024–0.031 in) long.
Female cones, situated on a peduncle 3–13 mm (0.12–0.51 in) long, are sparsely covered with soft or woolly hairs. When mature, the cones measure 10–24 mm (0.39–0.94 in) in length and 9–13 mm (0.35–0.51 in) in diameter, with samaras reaching 6–8 mm (0.24–0.31 in) in length.
