Plant description:

Moringa oleifera is a rapidly growing, deciduous tree that can attain a height of 10–12 m (33–39 ft) with a trunk diameter of up to 46 cm (18 in). Its bark exhibits a whitish-gray hue and is enveloped by thick cork. The young shoots display bark that is purplish or greenish-white and hairy. Characterized by an open crown of drooping, delicate branches, the tree forms a feathery foliage of tripinnate leaves.

Its flowers emit a fragrant scent and are hermaphroditic, featuring five unequal, thinly veined, yellowish-white petals. The fruit is a hanging, three-sided, brown capsule measuring 20–45 cm (8–17+1⁄2 in) in length, containing dark brown, spherical seeds with a diameter of approximately 1 cm. These seeds possess three whitish, papery wings and are dispersed by wind and water.
