Medicinal uses:

When consumed as raw fruit, grapes exhibit astringent properties and benefit cases of diarrhea, while ripe fruit acts as a laxative. When prepared as a decoction or infusion, raisins serve as a concoctive remedy, especially when the body is influenced by cold, phlegmatic, or atrabilious humors. However, excessive consumption of ripe and dried fruits may lead to loose motions. Raisins also serve as a useful adjunct and vehicle for laxative formulations.

They also serve as a useful detersive for sores and ulcers, making them effective when applied to lupoid ulcers locally and systemically, particularly if diagnosed in the stomach and intestines. Furthermore, a large variety of raisins (2-5 Nos.) heated over a metal plate on the burner and administered to children suffering from lung congestion of cold origin can prove effective.

Additionally, when soaked in aqua Rosa damascena overnight and consumed the following night after straining, raisins benefit cases of cardiac debility, particularly palpitations. Due to their detersive properties for the lungs, physicians regarded them as useful in treating hoarseness and cough caused by phlegmatic disorders. Sogi
