Description

Chasko, چاسکو, chasku, Cassia absus Linn, Chaksu (Cassia absus seeds). This herb belongs to family “Caesalpiniaceae”. Mostly, used parts are seeds. They are bitter in taste. It is warm and dry in second degree in temperament. This is a blood purifier used in sweet dish “panjeera” for clearance of acne. It is ideally effective against ophthalmic disorders. Furthermore, these seeds have properties  as astringent, haemostatic haematonic, detersive and resolvent, ophthalmic tonic, diuretic, cholagogue.

Medicinal uses:

Generally, people highly value it for its blood-enriching properties, serving as a tonic and bitter astringent for the bowels. Hence, people apply it topically to heal ulcers, treat leucoderma, and address various eye conditions such as purulent conjunctivitis and ophthalmia.
