Description

Kharateen at sknatural are basically cleaned earthworms, Ascaris lumbricoides. Creeping on moist grounds, up to 8 inches in length, these creatures can be commonly observed during the rainy season, freely moving in gardens. Due to their popularity among fish, people often use them as bait, attracting them with fishing hooks.

People recognize earthworms as a significant protein source due to their high protein content, which comprises 78-79 grams of free amino acids per liter. Additionally, they contain abundant vitamins and minerals, with particular emphasis on iron (Fe) and calcium (Ca). Researchers have extensively analyzed the potential of earthworms as a source of protein, nutrients, and fatty acids for human consumption.

Purified and cleaned kharateen serve as ingredients in liniments and embrocations, functioning as aphrodisiac tonics. Moreover, physicians sometimes include them in systemic preparations designed to achieve similar benefits. People administer these preparations to prevent impotence and boost sexual vigor and vitality. Whether used alone in powder form or incorporated into confections or electuaries, they aim to improve body weight and activity.

In cases of warm inflammations, individuals apply finely triturated earthworms as a paste under cover for about three days to alleviate discomfort. Additionally, mixing triturated earthworms with water or almond oil and applying them on hydrocele proves to be beneficial.

Khiratin Mussafa, utilized for medicinal purposes, are obtained by placing live earthworms in salted buttermilk (Chaach). During this process, earthworms expel all the sand from their bodies. Subsequently, practitioners dry and use the earthworms (Musaffa) in medicines. However, excessive consumption, either alone or in compounds, can be harmful to the stomach and intestines.

It is beneficial in addressing hypersensitivity of the male organ’s gland and controlling premature ejaculation. Moreover, it enhances the blood supply to the groin region, ensuring proper nourishment for the male sexual organ. Additionally, it helps regulate seminal discharge and improves weak erections.
