Description

Luban at sknatural is a gum resin obtained from plant Boswellia glabra Roxb. It belongs to family “Burseraceae”. It is warm and dry in first order/warm in second order dry in first. Generally, people use its gum resin. Using its smoke with guggul to ward off demonic spirits in the house is our Prophet’s Sunnah.

Medicinal uses:

Various preparations commonly utilize the gum resin extracted from Boswellia spp. to treat amenorrhea, menorrhagia, polyuria, rheumatism, ulcers, scrofulous affections, syphilis, sores, and nervous diseases. Its long-term use, at a daily dosage of 3 grams, enables it to act as a lipolytic agent without causing harm, effectively reducing obesity and excess fat from the body. Moreover, it enhances memory and strengthens vital organs, thereby improving overall vitality.

Additionally, luban acts as an excellent tonic for the urinary bladder and exhibits astringent properties, particularly beneficial in cases of diarrhea triggered by stressful conditions and nervous debility. Furthermore, it functions as a stimulant-expectorant for pulmonary affections such as asthma and bronchitis. When chewed with gum acacia, it alleviates foul breath. It also benefits cases of gonorrhea when consumed in demulcent drinks.

Employed widely to address conditions like aphthae, dysmenorrhea, sore nipples, gonorrhea, and ringworm, it serves as a hepatic stimulant, aiding in infective jaundice, dysentery, dyspepsia, and piles. When used as a collyrium with honey, it acts as a useful detergent and absorbent, providing relief from conditions like pterygium, epiphora, and conjunctivitis.
