Description

Kamila at sknatural is Mallotus philippinensis (Lam) Muell.. It belongs to family “Euphorbiaceae “. It is warm and dry in second order. Generally, people use its glands (powder) and hairs of fruit.

A bush to a small or medium-sized tree, reaching up to 25 meters in height with a trunk diameter of 40 cm. At the base, the trunk appears fluted and irregular. The bark is gray and can be either smooth or occasionally wrinkled with corky bumps. Small branches exhibit a grayish-brown color, with small rusty hairs towards the ends. Also leaf scars are noticeable.

Leaves are arranged oppositely on the stem, and they are ovate to oblong in shape, measuring 4 to 12 cm in length and 2 to 7 cm in width, with a long pointed tip. The upper surface of the leaves is green and smooth, while the underside appears pale gray. Under a magnifying glass, small red glands may be observed. Leaf stems are 2 to 5 cm long and somewhat thickened at both ends. The first vein on each side of the midrib extends from the leaf base to over half the length of the leaf. Veins appear raised and visible beneath the leaf.
