AMALTAS , املتاس, with scientific name Cassia fistula Linn. is also known as Bactyrilobium fistula Willd. It belongs to “Caesalpiniacea”  family. It is commonly known as “Amaltas” in Urdu language, and in English language “Indian Laburnum”. In the traditional system of medicine, people widely treat various health issues with it. In Sanskrit language, it is called “Aragvadha,” which literally means “to kill diseases.” Aragvadha is one of the most popular herbal plants known for its medicinal worth.

Benefits:

Generally, people use amaltas in the treatment of many health concerns such as diabetes.  Seeds are useful in jaundice, biliousness (bad digestion), skin diseases, swollen throat, constipation. Moreover, seeds are useful in baby colic (episodes of babies crying for more than three hours a day), urinary disorders, Leprosy  (bacterial infection. Additionally, it affects the nerves , the skin, the lining of the nose, and the upper respiratory tract). How to use AMALTAS for weight loss:

Take one piece of amaltas fruit (indian medical tree) and divide it into 3 pieces and dip 1 in water for 24 hours. After that you can easily mash its white side with spoon. Then add its mixture in fennel seeds water to shed off some extra ponds. Drink this mixture. If you can’t drink it easily, then add a half teaspoon of honey.

You can use the leaves of it topically for skin problems such as ringworms, eczema, and skin eruptions.
